June 1st, 2019, was National Trails Day. This little-known day occurs on the first Saturday of June every year. If you're into hiking, or on some of the conservancy e-mail lists, you may have been notified. Several organizations, like the American Hiking Society, asked people to pledge to help clean up and maintain local hiking paths and trails. We personally ran into one IATA volunteer named Tom who was out cutting grass to keep the trail visible through some large tracts of fields.

We planned on having a Zero Day filled with our personal activities and commitments, but a big thunderstorm changed that for us by cancelling most of the events, so we took the opportunity to get in some trail time. And let me tell you, there's nothing quite like celebrating the outdoors and hiking than by getting your boots muddy on one!
As part of our celebration of #NationalTrailsDay, I made a video compiled from parts of our hike yesterday. Despite my distinct lack of video editing skills, I completed it in an amazing 12 hours, yet still missed getting it up Saturday night. If you'd like to take a little wander with us in honor of the occasion anyway, check out the latest video of the Magic Woolies on the trail!
And if you volunteered or got out hiking yesterday, please let us know down below. We'd love to hear from you!
